Tree Identifier

Privacy Policy

Effective 15 September 2026

Tree Identifier is made by Pavle Pejić, Novi Sad, Serbia. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app. It is short because the app does little with it.

In one paragraph: when you ask for an identification, that one photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and on to our AI provider, which returns the result. We do not keep the photo or the result on any server of ours. Your saved Collection and History live on your phone. There is no account, no tracking, and no advertising.

What we handle, and why

What stays on your device

Your Collection and your History — including the photographs in them — are stored in the app's own local storage. They are not uploaded, not backed up to us, and not readable by us. Delete them in Settings → Delete All Local Data, or remove the app to remove all of it.

Who processes what

Cloudflare provides the network and the Worker that receives the request. OpenAI analyses the image and returns the result. Requests are sent with provider-side storage disabled. Under OpenAI's default API data controls, inputs and outputs may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days and are not used to train models unless the account owner opts in. Both are processors acting on our instructions; their own terms also apply.

How long anything is kept

We keep no database of photos or results. Rate-limit counters are short-lived. Operational logs follow the retention configured on the Cloudflare account. Local records on your phone remain until you delete them.

Tracking, sale, and advertising

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not sell or share personal information, and the app shows no advertising. No third-party analytics or advertising SDK is present in the released app.

Children

Tree Identifier is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because we hold no account and no server-side copy of your content, there is normally nothing of yours for us to retrieve or erase. If you believe we hold something about you, or you want to ask about access, correction, erasure, restriction or objection under the GDPR or a comparable law, write to ppejic89@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. Residents of the EEA and UK also have the right to complain to their national supervisory authority.

Legal basis

Processing your photo is necessary to perform the service you asked for. Abuse protection and operational logging rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and affordable.

International transfers

Our processors operate infrastructure outside Serbia and the EEA, including in the United States. Transfers rely on the processors' own approved transfer mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

Changes

If the product, the providers or the law change, this page changes with them and the effective date above is updated.
